Ok, seriously, they call it “Spring Semester” so it must be spring, right? We could all agree to skip right over winter, but then we’d miss the Winter Jazz Concert and we definitely do NOT want to miss the Winter Jazz Concert.

This year’s concert is Tuesday, January 24th at 7:30pm and is, as always, in the warm and comfy Watson Auditorium.

A great way to spend a cold Tuesday night. Join us!

V-Show 2011, “There’s an App for That” is coming up this weekend.

Come see and hear the very best musical, dance, and comedy talent at Maine South.

You have three opportunities to see this not-to-be-missed show: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, the 17th through the 19th. All shows start at 7:30pm. Tickets are $6.00 each and can be purchased online at:

Maine South to be featured LIVE on ABC 7 News starting at 5:00am Wednesday

The Hawkettes and our very own Maine South Marching Band, along with (hopefully) hundreds of devoted Maine South students will be seen on ABC 7′s morning news Wednesday morning. Here’s an excerpt about the program from Maine South’s website:

“The 20-time state champion Hawkette Dance Team will be featured this Wednesday, November 16, as one of four dance squads competing in the ABC7 News Morning Show’s “Dance Team Dance-off.”

Starting soon after the show goes on the air at 5 a.m., ABC7 will feature two or three live shots of the Hawkettes and their supporters before airing the Hawkettes’ dance for the contest shortly before the show ends at 7 a.m. South students who show up in the Spec Gym by 5:30 a.m. Wednesday to back the Hawkettes will be entered in raffle drawings for a free parking space for the second semester; a reserved table at prom; and four additional graduation ceremony tickets. Students should go straight to Spec Gym to cheer on their Hawkettes.”

If you have a student who is not in band or Hawkettes, please urge them to attend. This is a chance to show the entire Chicagoland area just how proud our kids are of their school….besides they can win prizes!
